Pattersonville Rest Plaza

This second road trip to Detroit is starting out so much better than the first. I got on the pike today around 3 p.m. Aside from the usual jam up in the tunnel getting to the pike there was no traffic.

service area, Pattersonville, NYRight now at around 6:30 p.m. I am sitting out the sunset in NY, in Pattersonville? , I think. I'll will check on Tom Tom when I get back to the car.

service area, Pattersonville, NYNote to self, get a Fast Pass! Maybe to penalize people that pay cash at the tolls, the cash tolls are always on the exact opposite side of where my exit is. If I had run into heavy traffic in Albany and I got stuck in the right most lane, I would have been going to NYC now. It always seems to be this way, I am sure the Toll booth wonks planned this so that the where the majority of traffic is headed is where they place the Fast Trak lanes.

I am almost at mile 200. I am going to fill up even though I am at 1/2 a tank. Hopefully I can get through NY by midnight. NY is surprisingly the longest leg of the journey. If I studied the road map instead of only Tom Tom this would make sense to me.

velcroAll of my gadgets, GPS, camera and iPod are all velcroed to my dashboard in strategic places. I will have to take a picture with my phone to show this. I love Velcro!!

It's almost dusk, time to fill up and go.
